physics; condensed matter physics; nanoengineering and photonics. The building will allow Rice to create a state-of-the-art facility that meets the exacting requirements of modern physics and to consolidate its research in fundamental and applied physics. In addition to vibration control, laboratories in the new building will have substantially better temperature, humidity and air-flow control. The building is set to be certified LEED silver and is scheduled for completion and move-in early 2011.
Considerable thought was put into the design & engineering of the acid waste system that services the school’s laboratories. A LabTank® – Model ANTC-350 Acid Neutralization / Monitoring System was chosen to treat the wastewater. The ANTC system is designed to neutralize potentially harmful wastewater and to provide continuous pH monitoring.
